One aspect of blogging that we touched upon in class is that
more people are turning to blogs rather than traditional search engines. This
is because blogs are generally richer in content than their search engine
counterparts. The beauty of blogs is that they are actual consumer
testimonials. A person is much more likely to try a product if it is personally
recommended by another human, not a company website. Also, blogs create endless
communities online. This means that bloggers form relationships and begin to
trust other bloggers. When this happens, they can turn to each other for
technical support or even new recipes to try.
Today, the line is being blurred between social networking and blogging. While some people are convinced that social networking is the new blogging, others beg to differ. Blogging is something that I’m convinced will be around for years to come. I believe this is the case simply because people want to be heard. When I was younger, I had a livejournal account. This was basically an online journal that I wrote in every day. Even though it’s painful to read some of my previous posts from years ago, it still gives me pleasure to look back at the thoughts I used to have at different stages in my life. I feel that using blogs is an excellent way to preserve ourselves. Sites like Facebook and twitter limit a person by characters. Blogging is, in my opinion, more conversational and more enjoyable to read.

I've jumped on the team-blog band wagon. Because sure, not
everyone is going to have something “worth-while” to say in your opinion, but
they ultimately still have the right to say it freely.
